Spotted! The totally brilliant human-shaped sleeping bag *want*
Isn’t that just awesome?
Would your child ever actually get out of it?
It’s so well designed – form zips you can undo form the inside to ‘ventilation zips’ on the legs (to stop sweaty-knee-syndrome we think) and non-slippy feet.
Brrrrilliant.
(and yes, before you ask - there are grown-up-sized ones too!)

Fun Festival Accessories!
Festivals aren’t necessarily about being comfortable or practical, many of us try our hardest to look as ridiculous as possible (especially those of you who are Bestival-goers!) I’m going to try and give some practical AND ridiculous advice on festival-wear and accessories, if that’s possible…
Two years ago my boyfriend received a giant panda suit for Christmas. I, like everyone else thought it was a strange fashion choice but quite cool nonetheless. Inspired by his choice, I purchased a giant cat suit, and no, not cat suit in the attractive cat-woman type way – literally a giant tabby cat that you can wear.
These both came from the wonderful www.kigu.co.uk!
Buying a Kigu means more than having a cute Japanese animal costume. When you join their mailing list you’ll soon start receiving Kigu party invites, where you’ve guessed it; you have to dress in your Kigu.
These parties are usually in secret locations and have included a ‘Secret Squirrel Procession Party’ and a ‘Forest Frenzy’ party amongst others. Kigu have collaborated with trusty party hosts such as Dazed & Confused, Vice Magazine and Red Bull in the past.
This year the ‘Kigu Crew’ will be putting on lots of events at your favourite festivals. Last year they created pop up raves around the country and even got artists Skream and Benga in on the Kigu action…
These suits are probably the most comfy thing you’ll ever wear and perfect for wearing in the day or sleeping in during those freezing festival nights.!!
Next on the practical but ridiculous list are Lomography cameras – http://uk.shop.lomography.com/. I’m a big Lomography fan and if, like me you aren’t willing to take your SLR anywhere near a festival these are the perfect alternative.
One thing that’s so great about Lomography cameras is their design. From geometric patterns to animal print there are loads to choose from and all of them are festival – worthy…
They are relatively easy to use and you can combine your camera with different types of film and a range of flashes. I recommend trying out the Diana F + first, these have been re-developed by Lomo and they’re probably one of the easiest to use.
I borrowed some photos from Lomo veteran and friend Callum Kirkwood (http://www.callumkirkwood.com/) who introduced me to these cameras a while ago. Here’s a photo taken with his Diana f + at Jersey Live…
Human-shaped sleeping bagare third on the list. Essentially a sleeping bag with arms and legs, this invention definitely deserves some recognition.
No more hopping. falling, hopping, falling your way through the camp site – you can now walk proudly and probably a bit awkwardly around the festival.
They’re a better alternative to ‘mummy’ sleeping bags but I should warn you that you may look a little like the michelin man.
Last but not least on my ridiculous but practical list – Napsacks!
If you’re looking for something a little bit between a mummy and a michelin man, try a Napsack from Poler - http://www.polerstuff.com/the-napsack/.
Napsacks have zips on the shoulders for you to release your arms and a clinch at the bottom to release your legs. You can clinch the sleeping bag up to your knees if you fancy a stroll and there are built in pockets for your essentials.
The fabric is warm and waterproof but not bulky, perfect for our undependable festival weather. Their website also has a bunch of other clothes and camping accessories.

Wear Your Sleeping Bag
If you’ve lived in a tent on a campsite when the weather is cold, you’ll appreciate the advantages of the human-shaped sleeping bag. In essence, it is a wearable sleeping bag. To be more precise, it’s a body-hugging suit made of soft touch polyester filled with a hollow fibre bonded filling.
If you’re wondering why it’s called the human-shaped sleeping bag, there’s a classic version that’s puffier.
One major benefit of a wearable sleeping bag is that it improves mobility and protection. In fact, you can even use it inside your home with the aim of reducing heating bills. It is especially useful when the ambient temperature is around 4 degrees Celsius or so, as it keeps you warm even at temperatures of 1 degree Celsius.
The human-shaped sleeping bag is the brainchild of Rodrigo Alonso Schramm, a Chilean industrial designer. It has an integrated hood with drawstrings to keep the head warm. The reversible zips that make it easy to free your arms whenever you need to use them. For instance, when you want to send a text message using your mobile phone and find it hard to do from within the protective cover of the human-shaped sleeping bag.
The human-shaped sleeping bag is available in bright blue and coal grey. It is not meant for those below 16 years of age. It is available in two sizes- one that is for people of height up to 1.7 m and another for those who are 1.9 m tall.
The human-shaped sleeping bag is easy to maintain, as it only needs to be hand washed with a mild detergent. It can be tumbled dried at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and requires no ironing.
